After pickup from your hotel, you'll be taken to Macao Beach in an air conditioned van.  Once you're at Macao Beach, you'll prepare the equipment and start our ride, following hidden back roads through small villages and farm land. The green forestation offers lots of shade and you will be amazed by its variety and beauty of plants and trees growing here in the Caribbean.

Pass by plantain and coffee plantations and cattle land, cross small streams and ride on hidden trails over great land. You will get to see how local live in small wooden houses and your guide will tell you interesting stories about the country and its people. Stop at a local shop for some refreshments before continuing your ride back.

Visit Higuey City. See the central park, visit Saint Dionisio church, one of the oldest churches in America and an important landmark in the Dominican Republic. Consecrated in 1572 on the site of an earlier structure from 1512, the church is dedicated to the Virgin of Altagracia.

Then visit the Basilica Catedral Nuestra Senora de la Altagracia, a Roman Catholic minor basilica and cathedral in Dominican Republic dedicated to Our Lady of Altagracia, patroness of the nation. It is in Salvaleon de Higuey. 

We will also visit the ruins of the "Sugar Mill Sanate" one of the first in America, built in 1522.

Then join us in a 20km rout of the surrounding countryside, with beatiful views ending with a delicious typical Dominican lunch with beer included. Note: You can select this tour in electric mtb or normal mtb.

Pick up at the hotel at 8:30 am. We will take the Coral Highway to Higuey, and stop at the San Dionisio Church for 25 minutes to take some pictures and to hear its history. Then we go to the Basilica Nuestra Senora de la Altagracia. Learn about our spiritual mother and take a look at the pretty architectural design of this beautiful monument.

At 10:30 we will go to Banana Ranch for a fruit snack and right after that we will go to start our mountain bike tour. We will visit peasant populations, beautiful views, rivers, plantations and cattle ranches. Then at 1:30pm enjoy a typical lunch with the "dominican flag"! (That is rice, beans and meat).

After lunch, enjoy the refreshing pool.

Aproximate departure to your hotel is 3:30pm through the Coral Highway. Expected arrival to your hotel is 4:30pm.

Pass by gorgeous tropical beaches or through the area’s rolling hills, stopping along the way to enjoy the lush wildlife. Guides will provide insight into the region’s history and culture and answer any questions about the area or the bikes. There is a mechanic riding along should any bike need fixing.

Our bike tour around the Colonial Zone is Unique. We visit the most emblematic spots, sharing historic and cultural insights, you will not only learn about the local history but also about the local culture getting to know what locals do and where. By the end of the tour you will have plenty of options for places to go eat, drink, buy or just relax. It's a great option for the beginning of your stay in Santo Domingo to get the most out of your visit. After the 1h30m tour you will feel like a local!

The tour starts at our shop Zona Bici at Calle Arzobispo Meriño 217. We are just a block away from Colombus Plaza and the city's Cathedral so this is our first stop. Here we share some of the park's history and define some of the busyneses there. From there we ride down to Plaza Padre Billini where we share his history and also the one of La Casa del Tostado and other restaurants and busyness there. We keep on riding and reach the Ruins of the Dominicos Convent and Parque Duarte, again sharing some of the monuments history and cultural importance. From here we go to Regina's Alley and see Regina's Agelorum's church. We go up calle Jose Reyes and hit Calle las Mercedes. There we see La Iglesia de las Mercedes, and what we call the new alternative center of the Colonial Zone. From there Riding down Calle Sanchez we Hit El Malecón and share the tale of the Balandra Aurora Monument. Here we star ridding along the old city's wall. Fisrt the South Wall, where we visit Park San Jose, Montesinos Monument, La Casa Del Gorjón and Plaza Pellerano Castro. From There we reach calle las Damas The oldest street in the city, and is where we share the most historical information. By this time we have reached the East Wall that runs along the Ozama river. Along the wall we see important monuments such as Cristopher Columbus House, Hernan Cortes House, La Fortaleza Ozama among other. At the end of calle las damas we reach Plaza España where we si Don Diego Colon's Alcazar, El Barrio de las Atarazanas and the ruins of the customs buildings.  From there we go the Santa Barabara where we share the histrory of slavery in the city. Our last stop is just a block away from the shop, where we see the Ruins of San Francisco. there we share some insights before going back to the shop.
