It requires only 3 or 4 days of training and never expires. This program is available for those who wish a very individual training by your personal PADI scuba diving instructor.

Your course takes 3 to 4 days in all. It includes 2 days of knowledge development and pool training as well as 2 days of training in the open water with 4 open water training dives. You will get your PADI Open Water student kit and receive a brief explanation of how to use it.

Your instructor will help you to close your knowledge gaps and answer all the questions you might have from your self study by using a video and lesson guides. The physical training will occur in a swimming pool. Your instructor will explain and slowly demonstrate each and every skill for you and give you enough time to practice. You will gain confidence in short time.

Next, it is on to training in the open water. During the course you will participate in 4 open water training dives which will last 35-45 minutes each. The first dive does not include any formal skills and will help you to acclimate to the new environment. During the 3 remaining dives you will apply the skills you have already mastered in the swimming pool to open water conditions. All your open water dives are conducted by boat. Your captain and instructor will take you out to the closeby coral reefs, where you will also enjoy the tropical fish and marine life.

Travel to Higuey, the largest city in the Dominican Republic's eastern region, visit a local school, learn about and sample local products, visit one of the country's most famous churches - the Basilica de Higuey, and splash around at Macao Beach.

After pickup from your Punta Cana hotel you will leave the city and travel towards Higuey, the largest city in the Dominican Republic's eastern region. The excursion makes a stop at a local school where the safari team sponsors a community project that benefits several villages with basic education.
Leaving Higuey, you will take a turn towards the Cordillera Oriental Mountain Range, averaging some 900 feet above sea level, before heading deep into the Dominican countryside. The safari truck then passes by two rural ranches where you'll learn about and taste several genuine Dominican products: cocoa, coffee, tobacco, and mamajuana (widely considered a natural aphrodisiac).
